Throughout this 5 day lesson, there will large group lesson as well as small groups that move through centers to introduce the weekly theme. The various centers will also have activities that correlate with the letter Ff theme.
Day 1:
The weekly theme will be introduced during large group rug time. At the beginning of the lesson the Sesame Street video will be viewed on the smartboard and the students will be asked to predict which will be the next letter of the week. Once they have guessed the correct letter, the class will then continue with the next activity with the Letter F song. Upon the completion of the Letter Ff introduction we will proceed with the daily singing of the alphabet.

Day 2:
This lesson will also begin on the rug in a large group setting. The first video will demonstrate the proper way of writing the letter F. Once rug time is completed the second link will be set up as a center on the whiteboard and the students will be practicing tracing the letter.

Day 3:
On the rug at large group time the students will view the video that reinforces the difference between the capital F and the lower case f. During center time the students will be able to access the whiteboard and explore the link to the Starfall website. A digital camera will also be given to a small group for them to explore the classroom and hallway looking for pictures of the letter Ff or pictures of objects that start with the /f/ sound

The students will watch the picture slideshow of all the pictures they took with the digital camera. Upon completion of the slideshow, we will discuss the appropriateness of their selections. The class will also view the videos that reinforce the letter Ff and the students will be asked if they can think of words on their own that begin with the /f/ sound.
